The Top 3 DVD Players for Kids
Kids DVD players have become increasingly popular, and more and more and more models are becoming available. If you’re looking for a DVD player that’s just for the kids (so you can keep yours to yourself), this article will give you an overview of three popular models.
Disney High School Musical DVD Player
This is a really fun little DVD player, especially if you have High School Musical fans in your household! The player is designed like a school locker, complete with a combination lock on the front. It plays standard DVDs and CDs, and has a parental control feature. There’s not a lot of bells and whistles, but for a kids DVD player simple is better. This player does what it’s supposed to, and does it with style.
However, it does not have a screen, so needs to be hooked up to a TV. There is (of course) a matching High School Musical LCD TV, but you can hook it up to any TV. If you need portability, this is not the model for you. But if you want something fun that your child can use in their room, this is a good choice.
Nextplay PDVD Player
This looks more like a standard portable DVD player, except it is blue. It has a good-sized seven inch LCD screen and the whole thing is an easily portable four pounds. It comes with both stereo speakers and a headphone jack, so you can encourage the kids to plug in so they…ahem…don’t hear you. The screen folds down when not in use, and the control buttons are colorful and easy to use.
It plays standard DVDs and CDs, and also comes with a kid-friendly remote that they can use, or you can use from the front seat of the car. It is not as durable as some of the other kids DVD players, so if your kids are quite young and prone to dropping things or knocking them over, this may not be your best choice.
Fisher Price Kid Tough Portable DVD Player
This thing is built to withstand pretty much anything a kid can do to it…and more. It’s extremely durable, with a hard casing and some heavy duty anti- shock and skip features. You can drop it, and it plays on. The picture and stereo sound are of surprisingly good quality, especially for a kids DVD player, and the control buttons on the front are large and easy to understand and use, even by little ones.
It fits nicely on a lap, or can be placed on a table or floor and propped up with the kickstand. Best of all, you can plug headphones it (though it doesn’t come with headphones), and you can also hook it up to your regular TV. It plays standard DVDs and CDs, and comes in either pink or blue. It’s a great choice for even really little ones, and has a whole host of accessories available to go with it.
I’ve really just scratched the surface here with these kids DVD players, as there are tons more to choose from. The best thing to do is to shop around, and find the model that fits your child’s age and how they are going to use it.
