Kids DVD Player Review – Fisher-Price Kid Tough DVD Player
If you’re looking for a kids DVD player, you really can’t go wrong with the Fisher Price Kid Tough DVD Player. This is one strong little gadget! Whether you want to use it at home, so the kids keep their grubby paws off your expensive electronics, or for long car rides, the Kid Tough will keep them (and you) happy for a long time.
The Kid Tough DVD player’s LCD screen is just over three inches, and the entire machine fits perfectly in little laps, though it also has a kickstand base so you can set it up on a table or on the floor. It also plays CD’s, and comes with a power wall adaptor, a rechargeable battery and charger. So you can plug it into the wall and play it, or charge it up and take it in the car.
The only thing it doesn’t come with that I really, REALLY wish it did are headphones! Though there is a headphone jack in the side, beside the power input, so you can pick up a set separately. It comes in pink and blue, so if you want one for each of your little siblings, you can let them choose which color is ‘theirs’ and avoid fighting.
The Kid Tough DVD Player is very well designed, and easy for little fingers to operate on their own. The front panel has colored buttons on it, with symbols for play, stop and pause, that are easy for kids to understand and learn to use. The DVD menu is easy to get to as well, with just a few clicks.
What’s really amazing about this little device is the quality. It’s surprisingly good, for a ‘toy’ type DVD player. The picture is clear and crisp, and the stereo sound is almost too good (where are those headphones?). Even when the kids drop it, and they will, the picture and sound stayed just as good as when it came out of the box. It is easy for them to carry around with the big rubber handle at the top.
Another very cool feature is that you can connect a video out cable to the player, and screen movies on your regular TV! Very fun when your kids have friends over, and they want to show off by working the DVD player. It supports all standard DVDs, so all of the movies you’ve got now will play just fine on the Kid Tough.
Of course, you can pick up all sorts of accessories for the Kid Tough. There’s an On-The_go Travel Kit, with a charging cord, A?V out cable, headphones and a headphone splitter for sharing in the car. The Kid Tough DVD Plater Case is a portable, light carry case for the player and all it’s accessories and DVDs.
Kids DVD players really don’t get much better than this. Fisher Price has made a portable DVD player that is easy for even wee ones to use, and that stands up to even the most rough and tumble preschooler. It’s sure to make any kid (and any mom) very, very happy.
